Hey
I was wondering if any of the other youths would be interested in coming to the erriall cc youth tour on the 4th, 5th and 6th of August.
Because it would obviously be cheaper to go as a group because of fuel costs and accommodation etc
Give me a ring if interested in goin
07512317547, thanks!

A BIG Thank you to everyone who has sent their best wishes by one means or other. It is very comforting to hear of your concern and support.  Sorry to all those I brought down with me, especially Emma.  I hope you all make a speedy recovery, and your bikes weren't damaged too badly.  Unfortunately I broke a few bones, which will take a few weeks to heal, but I hope to be back on the bike soon. Well done to Nigel and Karl for securing valuable points in interclub league on Thursday! Thanks again and see you all soon. Martin

Duffin Transport Racing are hosting a Mountain Time Trial to coincide with the longest day of the year.

http://www.entrycentral.com/index.php?raceID=101525
Entry Central Link

What better way to spend a summers evening by testing your lungs and legs over the very scenic landscape of Orra mountain in the heart of the Glens of Antrim.

The Time Trial is unique in the local cycling calendar and will provide an opportunity for specialist time trialists to test their abilities against those who consider themselves more adept to the steep climbs. The nature of the course should make the result unpredictable and should attract considerable interest from near and far.

The winner will be Crowned Orra Mountain Time Trialist Champion for 2012 and it is our hope to run the event as annual event with the winner having the opportunity to defend the title.

SIGN ON: Magherhoney Parish Hall Carpark,Coolkeeran Road, Loughgiel, .

The SIGN ON will open from 7pm will be open from to 7.45 pm.

First rider off at 8PM.

Road Bikes and TT bikes are both permitted.

Parking facality is available in the carpark beside Parish Hall, please be considerate to the local community when parking.

The start is approximately 1/2 a mile from sign on at the bottom of the Altarichard Road.
It is an 'out and home' course set over Orra Mountain and is 18 miles. The finishers should expet a time between 45 minutes to 1 hour 10 minutes to complete depending upon experience and fitness.

Marshalls will be on the course to direct riders at essential turns on the course

Entry fee for this event is £5.00.

A BIG thank you to Mark McCullough and his girlfriend for rescuing me off Ora mountain during yesterdays Ras Loughguile, after I went head first it to peat bog.  Not the best trip I've made on a bike!  Sleet was falling at the time and water was ice cold so I was in danger of suffering  from hypothermia.  Mark and his girlfriend gave me and my muddy bike a very warm and welcome lift back to community centre.  Sorry about messing your car up and thanks again.  Martin

While I might not have finished the last time trial with a functioning light I certainly started the event with one, as verified by the markers sheet I examined after the finish.  While I fully understand and support this important safety rule it seems a little harsh to disqualify a person who's light malfunctions DURING the race.  I suggest a rule change to 'Must have a fuctioning light at start of event'. A change of batteries cured the problem in my case.  I must remember to fit new ones before next event.
