Club season nears a conclusion.

Monday, August 24, 2015
Last week’s action in the Ballymena Road Club – Chain Reaction Cycles – club race series (sponsored by Northstone), was the club’s final 10 miles time trial of the 2015 season. It had been extremely wet all day but thankfully conditions improved in time for the event and it went ahead as scheduled, although with a change of venue from the Glarryford circuit to Woodgreen.
Conditions were fast with all but two of the BRC riders either posting a personal best or a recent season’s best time.

Jason Burns topped the club result with an impressive time of 21 minutes 26 seconds, which was 1 minute 16 seconds faster than top veteran rider Michael Carroll who clocked 22.42. Nigel Kernohan posted a personal best 22.47 for third place. There was another PB for fourth placed Philip Morrison who clocked 22 minutes 50 seconds to beat his previous best, from April this year, by over three minutes! Philip won the handicap section. Breandan McCavana was fastest junior with a PB 23.04 while Laura Blair won the ladies section with a PB time of 24 minutes 17 seconds.
Mervyn Linton (Ballymoney) was fastest of the visitors with 20 minutes 38 seconds.
