Ryan Currie followed up his win in the Australian pursuit race at Slaght by recording an impressive victory in last Wednesday evening’s Ballymena Road Club – Chain Reaction Cycles –  25 miles time trial at Woodgreen.

The event, which is part of the Northstone backed series of club races, was held on a fairly calm evening and attracted a total of fifteen club members and another twelve visitors, including the ladies from the Ulster women’s association time trial league.

Currie clocked a winning time of 54 minutes 29 seconds to beat current club champion Steven Workman by over a minute. Workman’s time of 55 minutes 32 seconds was good enough for second place.

Martin Ruddy was just "outside the hour”  with 60 minutes 10 seconds, a time which beat his best from last season. (4) Derek Dougan 60.31 (5) Adrian Kerr 61.05 (6) Nigel Kernohan 62.38 (7) Ryan Shaw 63.00 (8) Peter Smyth 63.16 (9) David Kennedy 63.21 (10) Louise Fullerton 65.42 (11) Stephen Smyth 66.24 (12) Sammy Kerr 67.21 (13) Emma Smyth 67.47 (14) Jason Burns 69.16 (15) John Maxwell 73.07

Sammy Kerr was second with 57.04 (3) Ryan Shaw 58.43 (4) Martin Ruddy 59.38 (5) David Kennedy 59.53 (6) Jason Burns 60.03.
