Handicap league.

After the first two rounds of this season’s Northstone time trial handicap league series there is a tie for first position between newcomer, Ryan Shaw and Jason Burns, who have seven points each. Emma Smyth is next on six points, while Sammy Kerr and Eileen McFarland have five each and Nigel Kernohan is sixth with four points.

Women’s league.

Eight women turned out for the first 25 mile time trial of the season in the Bikeworks Ulster Women’s Association time trial league. Heather Foley (Maryland) took the win in 58.18. Mary Hunter (Dromore) was second with 60.12 (3) Amy Brice 61 minutes 16 seconds.

This was the third event in the league, which is currently being led by Mary Hunter, followed by Rachel Withers (west Tyrone velo), with Foley, Brice and Hack not far behind. However, with another ten rounds to go, there are plenty more opportunities to challenge for the top six places.The next event is a 10 mile time trial at Woodgreen on 16th May ( supported by BRC).
