Youth's to Recieve Prizes Big Night.

It is now just over two weeks until the annual Ballymena Road Club – Chain Reaction Cycles – prize presentation dinner which this year takes place at Eaton Park on Friday 30th November at 7.30pm Ernie Graham, from Orkney Drive, a newcomer to the club this season, has won the youth’s time trial best all-rounder competition for the Samuel Mark shield.Ernie qualified for the BAR very early on in the season when he recorded 8 minutes 21 seconds for 2.5 miles on 16th April and 15 minutes 21 seconds for 5 miles on 7th May for an overall average speed of 18.754 mph.Unfortunately Ernie then missed the remainder of the season with an injury, but hopefully we will see him back again with renewed enthusiasm in 2013.
 
Emma wins Youth League
Emma Gordon from Fenagh Road has won the Ballymena Road Club – Chain Reaction Cycles – Dave Millar cup, youth racing league, for the 2012 season.
Thirteen year old Emma, a student at Cullybackey High School, proved once again that consistency is the key to winning any season long competition as she scored points in all but two races in the Northstone sponsored club race series.
She amassed a total of 109 points for, in the end, a comfortable winning margin over second placed George Graham, who scored 94 points while Brendan McCavana finished third on 70 points. (4) Andrew Wallace 49 points (5) Ernie Graham 27 (6) Adam McCullough 10 (7) Stefan Wills 9 points (8) Josh Barr 8 points.
Emma also won the youth’s road racing league series for the McAuley and Kerr cup. In this competition, which had five rounds in 2012, she amassed 50 points. Andrew Wallace, who won the Clarkes tyres cup road race at Broughshane, took second with 39 while Breandan McCavana, the winner of the Sandy Spence cup RR at Glarryford, finished third overall on 36. (4) George Graham 34 (5) Adam McCullough 10 points.
George Graham also will collect silverware as the winner of the inter-schools championship mini stage race at Broughshane. He won the Greer cup as individual winner and also the Brian Russell schools trophy on behalf of Ballymena Academy. George also won the track shield.
