Touring

Ballymena Road Club’s touring section cyclists travelled to Mountfield near Omagh on Sunday for their annual tour of West Tyrone.
It was a difficult day with rain and a stiff breeze making life hard. The 49 miles tour, which felt more like 69 miles, took in Mountfield, Killyclougher, Gortin Glen, Gortin, Newtownstewart, Douglas Bridge , Victoria Bridge , Ardstraw, Drummleagh and Omagh. The cyclists then enjoyed post event hospitality at the home of Philomena and Eamonn Sweeney. Many thanks also to Marian McQuillan for the catering and to organiser and "route master” Pius McKernan, for an excellent days outing.
