The Ballymena Road Club mid-week club race events are scheduled to reach a conclusion next week when the final race of the Northstone sponsored series is due to be held on Wednesday 14th August with the Will Henry cup event at Glarryford, for seniors, and the Sandy Spence cup road race for youths at the same venue.
This week is busy with the club’s annual three day race for the Ballymena Borough Council trophy.
Monday night saw the short circuit road race at Randalstown with tonight’s Sherdan Caldwell memorial hill climb on the Crebilly course at 7pm.
The three day race is completed with Wednesday nights (7th August) Sammy Gaston cup 25 miles handicapped road race at Glarryford. The chief marshall for this race is Jim Burns and he will be assisted by Jason and Eileen Burns, Louise Fullerton, Michael Thompson and Maria Shannon.
Going into last night’s race at Randalstown, following the Clough result, the club road race league was being led by Tommy Wilson on 36 points (2) Connor Young 23 (3) Ryan Bankhead 22. Equal (4) and (5) Karl Taylor and Simon Taggart 20 points each. (6) Michael Carroll 16 (7) Clifford Grant 16 (8) Ryan Currie 15 points. Equal (9) and (10) Richard Reid and Neil Millar 13 points each.
 
The Michelin barbeque is this Saturday, 10th August, at the Michelin Athletic Club. The cycle run leaves MAC at 10am with a choice of two routes while the BBQ is at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15
